Alaska Mission Trip Information

July 11-20th, 2003. We will be leaving on a Friday, returning on the following Sunday.

| Who is eligible?
|
The trip is intended for Junior High and High School students and adult chaperones, preferrably from the St. Michael Lutheran Church congregation.
|
| How many spots are available?
|
Currently the plan is to take a total of 20 people on the trip. That includes the two leaders, which leaves 18 available spots.

| Where in Alaska are we going?
|
The specific location has not been determined yet. Even after the announcement of the specific location within Alaska, it is subject to change with very little notice. We must be flexible!

| How much will it cost?
|
The worst case cost has been estimated at $985 per person; however, we will be conducting fund-raising events to offset the costs. Historically the fund-raising is matched with grant money from Lutheran organizations. A rough estimate would be approximately $300-$400 per person, but that is only a guess. The final cost will be determined by the success of the fund-raising events. The fee includes all travel costs including airfare, food, and lodging.

| How do I register?
|
A registration package will be made available shortly. Look for more information here or in the church bulletin's.

| How are the people going to be selected?
|
The seats are on a first come, first serve basis. The first 18 people that register will be selected for the trip.
|
| When is the registration deadline?
|
Notarized registration forms and a $50 non-refundable deposit is due no later than January 27, 2003.
|
| When is the balance of the fee due?
|
Typically the balance of the out-of-pocket expenses are due in March. A more detailed list of important dates will follow.
